Peranāmpattu Map Poster & Print
Peranāmpattu, also written Pernambut, is a town in the Vellore region of northern Tamil Nadu, close to the border with Andhra Pradesh. From above, it appears as a dense core of narrow streets and closely packed houses. Roads lead out toward neighbouring towns, and farmland opens up quickly beyond the built-up edge.
The Peranāmpattu map poster shows a plan shaped by gradual growth rather than design: lanes that meet at irregular angles, small open spaces around temples and mosques, and newer streets extending along the main roads. Around the town, fields and the irrigation tanks common in this part of Tamil Nadu add broad, simple shapes to the edges of the map.
The town is part of the leather-producing belt of the Vellore area, along with nearby Ambur and Vaniyambadi. Tanneries and footwear workshops account for much of the local economy, and goods made in the region have long reached markets far beyond India.
