Pezinok is northeast of Bratislava, where the flat Danubian lowland meets the forested ridge of the Little Carpathians. The historic town sits on the lower slope. On the map, its compact centre, once walled, is ringed by later streets and then by vineyards that rise in long strips toward the woods. The contrast between plain and hills shows in every direction.
Wine runs through local identity. Pezinok is one of the main towns on the Little Carpathian Wine Route, with a winemaking tradition going back centuries, cellars in old burgher houses and an autumn vintage festival. On a Pezinok map poster the narrow vineyard parcels form a fine pattern that frames the town on the side facing the hills.
At the edge of the old town stands Pezinok Castle, a former water castle in a large landscaped park, whose paths and ponds appear as soft curves beside the street grid. On the lowland side, the railway and the main road toward Trnava run in parallel, and the town's newer districts have grown along them, stretching out across the flat farmland.
