Pichor is a town in northern Madhya Pradesh, in the plateau country toward the border with Uttar Pradesh. It serves as a market centre for the surrounding villages, and its map shows a compact, irregular core of lanes and bazaar streets, with newer building spreading out along the main roads that connect it to the wider district.
The land around the town is mostly open farmland, cut by village roads and cart tracks, with tanks and small reservoirs that fill during the monsoon. It is typical of this part of central India: a patchwork of irregular fields rather than a neat grid, shaped by streams, slight rises in the ground and generations of local land division.
