Piraí Map Poster & Print
Piraí lies in the south of the state of Rio de Janeiro, in the hilly country of the Paraíba do Sul valley region. On a map, water is the dominant element: the Piraí River runs through the area, and nearby reservoirs built for hydroelectric power and water supply spread their branching shapes across the valleys.
The town is compact, with its centre along the river and streets rising up the slopes on either side. Main roads follow the valleys, including the route toward the Via Dutra, the highway that links Rio de Janeiro with São Paulo and passes through the municipality.
The waterworks in the region have long served Rio de Janeiro's electricity and water needs, turning the valleys into a network of lakes and canals. A Piraí map poster frames the town within this interplay of hills, rivers and reservoirs.

Reservoirs
Large artificial lakes nearby spread their fingers into the surrounding valleys, adding bold, irregular shapes to the edges of the map.
Hill streets
Residential streets climb the slopes in curves and switchbacks, contrasting with the flat, straight roads that follow the valley floor.

Piraíを選ぶ理由
想いが詰まった地図
The map of Piraí speaks to people who know the valley, whether through family, work at the region's industry or trips between Rio and São Paulo. Its water shapes make it an unusually expressive small-town print.
Choose Classic black & white or Blueprint to emphasise the river and reservoirs, and add your own title, subtitle and coordinates. HD files are $9, and a free 900 px preview is available before you buy.
