Portão Map Poster & Print
Portão is a municipality in Rio Grande do Sul, north of Porto Alegre, in the region settled by German immigrants in the nineteenth century. From above, the town appears as a modest grid of streets surrounded by rolling farmland and patches of woodland.
The town lies near the industrial cities of the Vale dos Sinos, known for footwear and leather production, and it shares that regional economy. Roads connecting Portão with neighbouring towns form the main lines of its map, with neighbourhoods growing along them.
