Quang Minh lies in Me Linh district, on the north-western side of Hanoi, not far from Noi Bai International Airport. It is known for the Quang Minh industrial park, and factories and new roads have transformed what was once mainly farmland. The town now shows two ways of building side by side.
On a map the industrial zones appear as large rectangular blocks laid out on a clean grid of wide roads. Around and between them lie older villages with dense, irregular lanes, ponds and the remaining rice fields that still mark this edge of the Red River delta. The contrast between the two patterns is the defining feature.
