Sarandi sits on the high plateau of northern Rio Grande do Sul, where the land rolls gently and farming shapes the view from above. On a map the town appears as a tight urban block. Its streets run in regular lines, and the countryside is divided into long field parcels, with rural roads running out toward neighbouring municipalities.
The town is small, with roughly twenty-five thousand residents, and its plan reflects that scale. The centre is easy to read, with a handful of main avenues crossing the residential blocks.
