Serpong Map Poster & Print
Serpong lies on the western edge of greater Jakarta and has changed completely over the last few decades. Former farmland and villages have become large planned developments, including BSD City, Alam Sutera and Gading Serpong. On a map, their layout is unmistakable: long curving boulevards, looping residential clusters and large campus-like blocks.
The Cisadane River flows through the area from south to north in wide meanders. It is the main natural line on a map that is otherwise dominated by planning. Toll roads connect Serpong to central Jakarta and the airport, and a commuter rail line runs across it. Among the new estates there are still older kampung streets, irregular and dense.
Serpong also has a scientific side. The national research complex Puspiptek is nearby, and BSD City is home to a large exhibition and convention centre. A Serpong map poster shows the contrast between curving planned suburbs, the natural river and the older settlement fabric.
