Traditional lanes
The older part of town is a close-knit web of narrow lanes and walled plots, a pattern that has grown over generations and reads beautifully on paper.

Shāl Map Poster & Print
Shāl is a town in Qazvin Province in northwestern Iran, on the plain south of the city of Qazvin, in the Buin Zahra area. On a map, it appears as a compact cluster of lanes and houses, surrounded by fields and orchards, with roads leading out across the flat land to nearby villages and towns.
The town is known as one of the places where Tati, an Iranian language distinct from Persian, is still spoken. Its older lanes follow an irregular pattern typical of traditional Iranian villages, with walled gardens and narrow passages, while newer streets on the edges are straighter and wider.
A Shāl map poster shows a traditional settlement on an open plain. The dense centre forms a fine, intricate texture, and the fields around it are ruled into long parcels. The contrast between the two gives the print a clear shape, especially in a restrained black-and-white style.

Plain roads
Straight roads cross the flat land toward Buin Zahra and Qazvin, anchoring the composition and linking Shāl to the wider region.

想いが詰まった地図
For people from Shāl, living in Tehran, Qazvin or abroad, a map of the town is a quiet way to keep its lanes and gardens close. It can mark a family house or a childhood street.
