Sojītra is a town in Anand district in central Gujarat, part of the Charotar region between the Mahi and Sabarmati rivers. Charotar is known for its fertile soil, its agriculture, notably tobacco, and its many families with ties abroad. From above, Sojītra shows a compact old core of narrow, irregular lanes, with newer housing extending along the roads leading out of town.
The land around the town is flat and intensively farmed, and the map shows a dense patchwork of fields separated by tracks and roads.
