Sūleswaranpatti is a town in Coimbatore district, in western Tamil Nadu, next to the market town of Pollachi. On the map the two almost run together. Streets extend from one into the other, and housing spreads along the roads that join them.
The land here is largely given over to coconut farming, and the area around Pollachi is one of the main coconut-growing regions in the state. On a map the groves read as open blocks crossed by farm tracks. The Anamalai hills rise to the south, and the Western Ghats are close enough to shape the climate and the horizon.
