Triyuga is a municipality in Udayapur District in eastern Nepal, with Gaighat, the district headquarters, at its centre. It lies in an inner Terai valley, a long lowland corridor enclosed by the Churia hills to the south and the higher Mahabharat range to the north, and the map reflects that setting clearly.
The Triyuga River flows east through the valley, and the town's streets spread across the flat land near its banks. Around the centre, roads run out to villages and fields, and the settled area stretches along the valley floor rather than climbing into the forested ridges that close it in on both sides.
