Tsiombe is a town in the Androy region at the southern tip of Madagascar, in one of the island's driest landscapes. On a map, the town is small and loosely built. A few main streets form its spine, and houses and compounds spread out around them. The river valley beside it, the Manambovo, adds a soft curve to the plain.
This is Antandroy country, known for its spiny thicket vegetation and the long, hard dry seasons that shape daily life.
