Turlock Map Poster & Print
Turlock sits in Stanislaus County in California's San Joaquin Valley, one of the most productive farming regions in the country. The land is almost completely flat, and the map shows it clearly: a street grid around the downtown and railway, new subdivisions on the edges, and a surrounding rural road network divided into very regular square-mile sections.
Water made that farmland possible. The Turlock Irrigation District, formed in 1887, is often cited as the first irrigation district in California, and its canals still cross the countryside around the city. Turlock is also home to California State University, Stanislaus, whose campus lies on the northeast side of the town.
A Turlock map poster turns the agricultural geometry of the valley into a clean graphic. Highway 99 and the rail line run diagonally across the grid, the university campus stands out as an open space with curving paths, and thin canal lines divide the fields beyond the last houses.

Stanislaus State campus
The university grounds form a large open area with curving paths, ponds and buildings, noticeably softer than the surrounding streets.
Highway 99 diagonal
The highway and railway run on a northwest-southeast diagonal through the valley, crossing the town's grid at a distinct angle.
