Ürgüp Map Poster & Print
Ürgüp lies in the heart of Cappadocia, in a landscape carved from soft volcanic tuff. The town climbs the slopes of a valley, with old stone houses and cave dwellings cut into the rock above newer streets below. On the map, the lanes curve and stack along the contours in an organic, layered pattern.
Above the center rises Temenni Hill, a viewpoint over the town and the valleys beyond. Around Ürgüp, erosion has produced the famous fairy chimneys, rock cones and canyons that draw visitors from around the world. An Ürgüp map poster places the town within this sculpted terrain, crossed by winding roads and footpaths.
The area is also known for wine. Vineyards on the surrounding volcanic soil add a fine texture to the outer areas of the map. Many cave hotels are here, and for many travellers Ürgüp is the base for balloon flights and valley walks.
