Unquillo Map Poster & Print
Unquillo lies in the province of Córdoba, Argentina, about twenty kilometres northwest of the provincial capital. It sits against the eastern flank of the Sierras Chicas, the lower range of Córdoba's hills. On a map, the town stretches along a valley, with its main road following the terrain and neighbourhoods reaching into the wooded slopes on either side.
Streets here rarely run straight for long. They climb, curve and fork around hillsides and stream beds, and form a looser, more organic pattern than the grids of the plains to the east. The stream that crosses the town draws a winding line through the centre.
The town has long drawn artists. The painter Lino Enea Spilimbergo lived and worked in Unquillo, and his former home is associated with the town's cultural life. An Unquillo map poster reflects that setting: a foothill community traced in fine, meandering lines.
