Arterial frame
Straight main roads divide the city into large blocks. They form the strongest lines on the map and give the composition a clear structure.

Watauga Map Poster & Print
Watauga is a small city in Tarrant County, part of the suburban belt northeast of Fort Worth. On a map it looks like a classic post-war American suburb. Wide, straight arterial roads mark out large squares of land, and inside those squares residential streets curve, loop and end in cul-de-sacs.
The city is almost entirely residential and fits closely against its neighbours in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. Commercial strips line the main roads, while the interior of each block is filled with single-family houses. Small parks and drainage channels provide the few breaks in the pattern. The land is largely flat, so the street network carries the full weight of the drawing.
A Watauga map poster brings out that characteristic suburban geometry. The straight lines of the arterials create a firm frame, and the looping streets inside add a soft, almost decorative texture. It is a surprisingly graphic image of the kind of place many people call home.

Curving cul-de-sacs
Inside each block, residential streets loop and branch into dead ends. They create a fluid pattern that contrasts with the straight arterials.
Neighbourhood parks
Small green spaces and drainage corridors appear between the housing tracts. They add quiet breaks to an otherwise continuous residential pattern.
