Twante Map Poster & Print
Twante lies in the flat country southwest of Yangon, where the Irrawaddy delta breaks into channels and creeks. From above, the town is a small cluster of streets beside the Twante Canal, the long, deliberately straight waterway that links the Yangon River with the delta's inner rivers. The canal's line stands out against the irregular curves of the natural streams around it.
The town has long been known for its pottery. Workshops have made glazed and earthenware pots here for generations, and the craft is still what brings most visitors. The Shwesandaw Pagoda gives the town a religious centre. On a map you see the everyday side: lanes running back from the water, clusters of houses, and a road leading out towards the fields.
A Twante map poster is mostly about water and flat land. Line work picks up the canal, the smaller creeks and the few roads that cross them, with open space in between where rice fields spread out. It is a quiet composition, more about how the town sits in the delta than about a dense grid, and it holds up well in a minimalist print.

Creeks and channels
Around the canal, natural streams wind across the plain in loose curves, giving the map a contrast between engineered straight lines and meandering water.
Pottery quarter
The town's pottery tradition sits within its ordinary streets, so the potters' part of town reads on the map as the same modest lanes and plots as everywhere else.
