Al Bāb Map Poster & Print
Al Bāb lies on the broad, open plateau northeast of Aleppo in northern Syria. The landscape around it is flat and largely agricultural, and on the map the town appears as a concentrated mass of streets surrounded by long straight roads and field boundaries.
Its name means the gate in Arabic, and it has long served as a market town on the routes leading from Aleppo toward the east. In recent years the town was heavily affected by the Syrian conflict, and for many people from Al Bāb the streets carry memories of a place that has changed a great deal.
An Al Bāb map poster records the layout of the town as a clear graphic: the tight grain of the older centre, the newer quarters around it, and the roads heading out across the plain. For those with ties to the town, it can serve as a calm, lasting reminder of home.

Roads across the plain
Main roads leave the town toward Aleppo and other settlements in straight lines, dividing the surrounding farmland into large, simple shapes.
Outer quarters
Newer residential areas ring the old centre with more regular streets, showing how the town expanded outward over the flat land.
