Valley streets
The main streets of Anfu run along the lower ground between hills, so the town's shape is long and irregular rather than square, following the lie of the land.

Anfu lies in the Rongchang area of western Chongqing, in the rolling hill country of the Sichuan Basin. The landscape here is a patchwork of low hills, small valleys and terraced fields. From above, the town's streets follow the valleys and the gentler ground, with the older centre giving way to newer blocks along the main roads.
Anfu is best known for its pottery. Rongchang ware, produced in and around the town for centuries, is counted among China's well-known pottery traditions, and workshops remain part of local life. The surrounding countryside is typical of the basin, with dense agricultural settlement spread across the hills rather than concentrated in a single core.
An Anfu map poster traces how the town fits into this terrain. Streets bend with the land, watercourses thread through the valleys, and roads run out toward neighbouring towns in western Chongqing. The edges of the map dissolve into small rural lanes and field paths, a delicate texture that frames the town.

Hillside lanes
Narrow rural roads climb and loop over the surrounding hills, reaching scattered farms and hamlets and forming a fine web that fills the outer parts of the map.
Roads to the region
Larger roads lead away from the centre toward neighbouring towns, forming the strongest lines on the poster and linking Anfu to the wider Sichuan Basin.

Cur Anfu
Tabula quae aliquid significat
For people from Anfu, or for collectors and potters who know Rongchang ware, a map of the town is a personal and unusual piece. The winding streets and hill lanes give it an organic, hand-drawn feeling on the wall.
