Barshi Map Poster

Barshi is in Solapur district in southern Maharashtra, on the dry, open ground of the Deccan plateau. It grew as a trading town for the farming country around it. The map shows a crowded old centre of short, irregular streets, surrounded by newer areas where the roads are wider and the blocks more regular.

The town is known for the Bhagwant temple, dedicated to Vishnu, which draws pilgrims from across the region. Its position near the heart of the old town has helped shape the streets around it. Beyond the town, straight roads lead toward Solapur and other district towns, and the farmland between them shows up as open, empty space.

A Barshi map poster keeps to the essentials of a working plateau town: the dense core, the roads leaving it and the gradual shift to open country. Barshi has no coastline or river to organise it, so the lines of the streets themselves carry the composition, and that simplicity suits a monochrome print.

01

Old market core

The oldest part of town is a tight cluster of lanes and small blocks. On the map it forms the darkest, busiest section of the drawing.

02

Temple quarter

The Bhagwant temple sits among the old streets, and the area around it has the kind of tight layout typical of pilgrimage towns.

03

Plateau roads

Straight roads lead out across the flat Deccan farmland. They give the edges of the poster a calm, open look.

Cur Barshi

Tabula quae aliquid significat

For families from Barshi living in Pune, Mumbai or abroad, a map of the town is a reminder of home. The title can show the town name in Marathi or English, and the subtitle a family name or a special date.

Classic black and white keeps the old lanes crisp, and Sand gives them a plateau-like warmth. Noir, Paper and Blueprint are also available. The poster can be printed on matte paper and shipped with an optional wooden frame by partners in 30+ countries.
