Tabula
Chichester has kept one of the clearest Roman town plans in England. It was laid out as Noviomagus Reginorum, and its four main streets, named North, South, East and West, still run in from the old gates and meet at the carved Market Cross in the centre. Long stretches of the medieval wall follow the Roman line, so from above the old city looks like a rounded enclosure split into quarters by a simple cross.
Outside the walls the plan loosens into Georgian terraces, Victorian streets and later suburbs, with the green of Priory Park tucked inside the northeast corner. The cathedral fills much of the southwest quarter, and its spire has long been a landmark for sailors coming in from the Channel. To the south the Chichester Canal runs in a straight line toward the harbour, a hard line against the curving lanes nearby.
Past the city the map opens into Chichester Harbour, a broad tidal basin of creeks, mudflats and low peninsulas, while the South Downs rise to the north. A Chichester map poster shows both at once: a compact walled centre and the ragged coastline beyond it. The fine black linework keeps the Roman cross readable at every print size.
North, South, East and West Streets meet at the Market Cross, a crossroads that has barely moved in nearly two thousand years and gives the centre its simple, symmetrical look on the map.
Much of the city wall still stands, tracing a rounded outline around the historic core. Parts of it are walkable, and on the poster it appears as a clear edge between the old city and the newer suburbs.
Southwest of the city, the harbour breaks up into fingers of water and marsh around small peninsulas, a detailed coastline that fills the lower part of a wider map frame.

Cur Chichester
Chichester often stands for something specific: school days near the cathedral, summers at the Festival Theatre, weekends sailing in the harbour creeks. The poster fits the whole city in one frame, and you can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line to mark a wedding, a move or a graduation.
Choose one of five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 digital download includes six print sizes, each as a 300 DPI PNG and a print-ready PDF. You can also order a printed poster on matte paper, with an optional wooden frame, shipped from a local print partner.
