Tabula
Delanggu is in Klaten Regency, Central Java, on the main road between Surakarta and Yogyakarta. The town has grown along this road and the railway beside it, with side lanes branching off into kampung neighbourhoods. From above, the built-up area is a narrow band of streets. Around it lie the irrigated rice fields that define this fertile volcanic plain.
Rice from Delanggu has long had a reputation across Java, and the name is linked with good rice in Indonesian markets. Irrigation channels, fed by springs and by streams coming down from the slopes of Merapi, divide the fields into small parcels. On a Delanggu map poster these parcels give the countryside around the town a fine patchwork texture.
The area also has a place in Indonesian labour history. In 1948, plantation workers here staged a strike that became a notable episode of the independence period. Today Delanggu is a local market and transport centre. The map shows its station, main road and market area within a wide green belt of paddies and village clusters, with the volcanic slopes rising in the distance.
The main road and railway run side by side through the town. This double line organises the whole layout and connects Delanggu to the two royal cities of Central Java.
Irrigated fields surround the town in small, closely packed parcels. They form a detailed patchwork that fills the outer parts of the map.
Dense kampung settlements sit like islands among the fields, each a small knot of lanes and houses shaded by trees. Narrow roads along the irrigation channels link them.

Cur Delanggu
For many Javanese, Delanggu means home, family land and good rice, and a map of the town is a simple way to keep that connection close. Put a family name in the title and a date or dedication in the subtitle.
The patchwork of paddies looks especially fine in Sand or Paper, with Classic, Noir and Blueprint as sharper alternatives. The $9 digital download includes six sizes as 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF files, and printed posters are available too.
