Bends of the Nete
The Nete swings through the municipality in broad loops, flanked by open meadows, giving the map a soft, flowing line that contrasts with the built areas.

Duffel sits in the province of Antwerp, roughly midway between Antwerp and Mechelen, on the river Nete. On a map the river is the defining element: it loops through the municipality in wide bends, with meadows and low-lying ground along its banks where building has kept its distance. The town centre gathers on higher, drier land close to the water.
The main railway between Antwerp and Mechelen passes straight through Duffel, and its line cuts a firm diagonal across the curving river and the older street pattern. Around it, residential streets from different periods fill the space in a mix of short grids and winding lanes, typical of the dense Flemish countryside.
The town gave its name to duffel, a heavy woollen cloth once woven here, which in turn gave its name to the duffel coat and the duffel bag. A Duffel map poster therefore carries a small piece of textile history along with the outline of the town.

Antwerp–Mechelen railway
A straight rail line crosses the town on its way between two major Flemish cities, acting as a strong organising axis on the print.
Ribbon-built Flanders
Houses stretch along roads leading out of the centre, a characteristic Flemish pattern that turns the edges of the map into long, fine threads.

Cur Duffel
Tabula quae aliquid significat
Duffel is small enough that one map holds all of it: the station, the river walks, the streets you know. It suits anyone who commutes from here, grew up here, or simply likes the story of a town that named a coat.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised, for example with a moving-in date. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download the files or have it printed on matte paper, framed if you like.
