Old haveli quarter
The historic centre packs lanes tightly around courtyard houses, many built by trading families and decorated with the wall paintings Shekhawati is known for. On the map it forms the densest part of town.

Fatehpur sits in the Sikar district of Rajasthan, in the semi-arid Shekhawati region, where farmland and low sand ridges stretch away in every direction. From above, the town is a dense knot of narrow lanes that opens into wider roads at the edges. A main highway runs past one side, and smaller tracks lead off toward the surrounding villages.
The town is associated with the Qaimkhani nawabs, who are said to have founded it in the fifteenth century. Later, merchant families built painted havelis around inner courtyards. On the map, those courtyards appear as small rectangular gaps in the block pattern, a quiet trace of the old commercial quarter at the heart of the town.
A Fatehpur map poster shows all of this in simple black line work: the crowded centre, the looser grid of newer neighbourhoods and the empty plain around them. Winters here are known for being unusually cold for Rajasthan, but on paper the place is pure geometry, a pattern of lanes and walls rather than weather.
The historic centre packs lanes tightly around courtyard houses, many built by trading families and decorated with the wall paintings Shekhawati is known for. On the map it forms the densest part of town.
A major road skirts the town and links it with Sikar and the wider region. Its long straight line gives the poster a firm stroke against the finer street pattern.
Past the last houses, the land turns to fields and sandy ground crossed by few roads. That emptiness makes the compact town stand out sharply on the page.

Cur Fatehpur
People hang Fatehpur because of family roots in Shekhawati, a trip through its painted towns, or simply because the tight old street pattern makes a strong graphic. The map shows the place as it is, without decoration, and that suits it well.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps a family name or a year, and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand in particular echoes the desert setting.
