Terrain-led layout
The town's streets stretch along the available flat ground, giving Fengjia an irregular, elongated outline that follows the land rather than a planned grid.

Fengjia Map Poster & Print
Fengjia lies in the mountainous southeast of Chongqing municipality, a region of steep ridges, narrow valleys and winding roads. Here flat land is scarce, and the town's shape on a map follows the terrain closely: streets run along the lower ground, bend with the contours and stop where the slopes become too steep to build on. The result is an organic footprint rather than a grid.
Around the town, roads switch back up hillsides and follow streams between the ridges, linking scattered villages and farmland. On a monochrome poster these winding lines stand out sharply against the empty space of the mountains, and the density of the town centre contrasts with the thin threads of road that reach out from it in several directions.
A Fengjia map poster is a portrait of how a settlement adapts to difficult ground. It suits anyone who grew up in the area or has family there, and it also appeals to those who simply like maps where the landscape, rather than a planner, has decided the shape of the streets.

Winding mountain roads
Roads leaving town curve and double back as they climb, drawing looping lines that are among the most striking graphic elements of the whole composition.
Ridge and stream pattern
Streams running between the ridges shape both the roads and the fields, so the map reveals the underlying terrain even without any relief shading.
