Gulf of Gaeta arc
The shoreline sweeps in a gentle curve toward the Gaeta headland. Printed in black and white, the sea becomes a large, calm field that sets off the dense coastal strip.

Formia stretches along the curve of the Gulf of Gaeta, and the map shows it as a long band rather than a round centre. The coastline runs along one side, the streets pack into a narrow strip behind it, and the mountains climb quickly inland, so roads wind in tight switchbacks just a short distance from the harbour.
The old Via Appia passed through Formia on its way from Rome to the south, and the town still sits on that coastal corridor. Roman Formiae was a favoured place for seaside villas, and tradition places Cicero's tomb on its outskirts. Today ferries leave the port for the Pontine islands of Ponza and Ventotene.
A Formia map poster captures that compressed geometry: the smooth arc of the gulf, the busy linear town and the contour-hugging roads above it. Across the water to the south, the Gaeta promontory closes the view and gives the composition a natural frame on the far side of the bay.
The shoreline sweeps in a gentle curve toward the Gaeta headland. Printed in black and white, the sea becomes a large, calm field that sets off the dense coastal strip.
The ancient Roman road's route runs through the town parallel to the coast. It remains the main east–west line, and the rest of Formia is drawn along it.
Inland, the ground rises sharply toward the Aurunci mountains. The roads fold into hairpins and terraces, which gives the upper part of the map a finely layered texture.

Cur Formia
Formia is where many people spend summers, catch the ferry to Ponza or train at the national athletics centre, so a map of it holds a lot of memories. The long coast and steep hills also make it a handsome print, one that works on any wall.
Add a title, a subtitle such as a summer or a wedding date, and a coordinates line, then pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 digital files cover six print sizes, and matte printed posters with optional frames ship from partners in 30+ countries.
