Igarapava Map Poster & Print
Igarapava lies in the northeast of São Paulo state, on the banks of the Rio Grande, which forms the border with Minas Gerais. From above, the town is a regular grid of blocks set on gently sloping land above the river, with farmland, largely given over to sugarcane and other crops, stretching away on every side.
The river is the dominant feature of the landscape. The Igarapava hydroelectric plant sits on the Rio Grande near the town, part of a chain of dams along the river that turned stretches of it into wide reservoirs. The water's edge and the dam structure give the map a strong line that contrasts with the orderly town streets.
An Igarapava map poster pairs the regular grid of the town with the broad sweep of the river and its borders. It is a composition that places the town firmly between two states, and in a black-and-white print the water becomes a quiet, open plane that frames the streets.

Hydroelectric dam
The Igarapava dam crosses the river near the town, a straight engineered line that stands out against the organic shape of the water.
Grid above the river
The town's regular blocks sit on slightly higher ground above the Rio Grande, with the main streets running toward the water and surrounding fields.

Tabula quae aliquid significat
People from Igarapava, or those who know the Rio Grande valley between São Paulo and Minas, often feel a strong attachment to the river town. A map keeps that place visible in a calm, uncluttered form.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line to include a family name or a special date, and choose one of five styles. Blueprint suits the dam, while Sand gives the river and farmland a warm tone.
