Market square
The large rectangular Rynek sits at the heart of the old town, with streets leaving from its corners in a grid that shows the town's planned medieval origins.

Jarosław Map Poster & Print
Jarosław sits on high ground above the San River in south-eastern Poland. The old town is laid out around a large rectangular market square, with streets running out from its corners in a regular pattern typical of medieval Polish towns. From above, that orderly core stands out clearly from the more curving roads that follow the edge of the escarpment.
The town grew rich as a trading centre and was once known for its large fairs, which drew merchants from across the region. Its arcaded Orsetti House on the market square is one of the best-known Renaissance townhouses in Poland. Below the old town, a network of historic cellars and passages has been opened as an underground route.
A Jarosław map poster sets the neat market grid against the looser loops of the river valley. The San curves past to the east, and newer districts spread across the lower ground beyond. It is a compact, well-proportioned composition with a clear centre, the kind of old town that reads well on a wall.

The San River
The river curves along the lower ground east of the centre, adding a soft, flowing line that contrasts with the straight streets of the old town.
Escarpment edge
The old town stands on raised ground, and roads bend around the slope where the town drops toward the valley, giving the centre a defined edge.
