Contour-following roads
Streets and rural roads bend around hills and dip into valleys, producing curving lines that reflect the terrain rather than any plan.

Jinlong lies in the western part of Chongqing municipality, in the rolling hill country of the eastern Sichuan Basin. On the map, the town is a cluster of streets set within a landscape of low ridges and narrow valleys, where roads rarely run straight for long. The terrain shapes almost every line.
Around the built-up area, the countryside is intensively farmed, and field boundaries follow the contours of the hills in curving bands. Small ponds and reservoirs dot the land, and rural roads wind between hamlets. Newer, more regular development sits beside the older, irregular streets of the town centre.
A Jinlong map poster reflects this hill-country character: a compact centre, roads bending around slopes, and a countryside patterned by terraces and water. It is a quiet, detailed composition, particularly meaningful for people from the area who now live in central Chongqing or further afield.

Terraced fields
Farmland around the town follows the contours in layered bands, adding a subtle rhythmic texture to the edges of the map.
Ponds and reservoirs
Small bodies of water are scattered through the countryside, appearing as clean shapes that break up the pattern of fields and roads.
