Contour-following streets
Streets bend around the hills instead of running straight. On paper this makes loose, curved lines that show the shape of the terrain without drawing a single contour.

Jiuxian Map Poster & Print
Jiuxian is a town within Chongqing municipality, in the hilly country of the eastern Sichuan Basin. Almost none of the ground here is flat, and the map shows it. Streets follow contours and slip between rises instead of crossing in straight lines, so the town's outline is irregular. It spreads along the lower ground and stops wherever the slopes get too steep.
Around the built-up area, the land breaks into small fields, ponds and farm paths, the typical mix of the Chongqing countryside. Roads wind between the villages instead of cutting straight across, which gives the whole area an organic, hand-drawn look. It is very different from the rigid grids of cities on the plains.
A Jiuxian map poster turns that terrain-shaped layout into a soft, flowing image: curved streets, a clustered centre and a scatter of rural lanes toward the edges. It suits someone who knows the town personally, and anyone who likes maps where the landscape has visibly shaped the plan.

Clustered centre
The densest blocks sit together on the most usable ground. The town's core is compact and easy to spot, with the fabric thinning quickly beyond it.
Rural lanes
Past the town, narrow roads and paths link fields and hamlets. On the map they form a fine, irregular mesh that fills the edges of the poster.
