Kōzōji New Town
This planned residential area has curving roads and clustered housing blocks, creating a flowing pattern very different from the grid-like districts on the plain.

Kasugai Map Poster & Print
Kasugai sits just north of Nagoya on the Nōbi Plain, with the Shōnai River marking much of its southern edge. The western and central parts are flat and densely built, with a fine, irregular network of streets, rail lines and small fields. To the north-east the land becomes hillier, and the street pattern changes completely at Kōzōji New Town.
Kōzōji was built from the late 1960s as one of Japan's large planned residential towns, and on the map it looks distinct from everything around it, with curved roads following the contours, apartment clusters and green spaces between them. Kasugai also promotes itself as a city of calligraphy, linked to the tradition that the classical calligrapher Ono no Michikaze was born here.
A Kasugai map poster brings together these two sides: the dense older districts on the plain and the carefully designed new town in the hills. The river adds a gentle curve along the bottom of the composition. It suits anyone who knows the city not as part of Nagoya, but as a place of its own.

Shōnai River
The river runs along the southern side of the city toward Nagoya, forming a smooth, continuous line through the composition.
Plain and hills
The flat western districts meet rising ground in the north-east, and the change in street pattern shows exactly where the terrain shifts.

Tabula quae aliquid significat
Many families in Kasugai moved into Kōzōji or the new suburbs during the decades of Nagoya's growth, and a map of the city marks the place where those households took shape. The title, subtitle and coordinates can point to a specific home or school.
Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Classic black & white suits a city associated with calligraphy. Buy HD files in six sizes for $9, or order a matte printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
