Khed is a town in the Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra, in the Konkan belt between the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea. It lies on the Jagbudi river, and much of its form follows the river. From above, the town appears as a dense cluster of streets on the valley floor, surrounded by hills that were never suited to a straight grid.
The street pattern is irregular and closely tied to the terrain. Roads follow contours and the riverbank, lanes branch into small neighbourhoods, and the edge of the built-up area stops where the ground rises. Khed lies on the Konkan Railway and is close to the main coastal highway, so the transport lines stand out clearly against the finer local streets.
A Khed map poster shows a Konkan river town in simple line work. The curve of the Jagbudi, the tight central streets and the looser edges come together into one image. It suits people from Khed who now live in Mumbai, Pune or abroad, as well as anyone who knows the town from family visits during the monsoon.

Konkan Railway
The railway line along the Konkan coast serves Khed and cuts a long, steady line through the uneven terrain around the town.
Hill-bound streets
Streets bend to follow the slopes, so the town has an organic, branching shape and no regular grid.

Cur Khed
Tabula quae aliquid significat
For many families, Khed is the native place they return to, even after they have moved to larger cities. A map poster keeps that link visible at home, and the black-and-white drawing makes the river and streets easy to recognise.
You can add a family name, a village name or an important date in the title and subtitle, and adjust the coordinates line. Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. The HD files cost $9 and have no watermark.
