Valley corridor
The town stretches along the valley floor, with its densest streets packed into the narrow flat land. This elongated form is the defining shape of the map.

Longxi Map Poster & Print
Longxi lies in the rugged northeastern part of Chongqing municipality, a region of steep mountains and deep river valleys near the Three Gorges area. Towns here rarely have room to spread out, so the built-up area follows the lowest available ground, stretching along a watercourse with roads that bend with the terrain.
From above, that gives Longxi a linear, elongated shape. The main streets run parallel to the valley, and smaller lanes climb short distances up the hillsides before stopping. Beyond the town, the map empties into switchback roads and scattered hamlets reaching into the surrounding mountains.
A Longxi map poster is a portrait of settlement shaped by topography. Rather than a grid or ring, the lines show how people fit a town into the space the land allows. In monochrome, the contrast between the dense valley strip and the sparse mountain roads around it gives the composition a strong sense of direction.

Winding mountain roads
Roads leaving town twist and switch back as they climb, drawing fine curving lines across the otherwise open edges of the poster.
Riverside edge
A watercourse runs alongside the built-up area, and the streets closest to it trace its bends, giving one side of the town a softer, curving outline.
