Neubrandenburg Map Poster & Print
Neubrandenburg is known as the city of four gates, and from above you can see why at once. The historic centre is an almost perfect oval, wrapped in a medieval stone wall that survives nearly all the way round. Four Gothic brick gates, one at each end of the old main axes, lead through it, and a green belt of ramparts and moats follows the wall on the outside.
Inside the ring, the centre was largely rebuilt after the Second World War. It follows a clear rectilinear plan, with the restored Marienkirche, now a concert hall, near its heart. South of the town lies the Tollensesee, a long glacial lake whose narrow shape stretches away from the city like a pointer.
A Neubrandenburg map poster is one of the most legible city portraits in northern Germany: an oval inside a ring of green, crossed by a grid, with a lake alongside. Few towns explain their own history so clearly in a single outline.

Four Gothic gates
The Friedländer, Treptower, Stargarder and Neues Tor sit where the main streets pass through the wall. They mark four points of entry around the ring.
Tollensesee
The long, narrow lake reaches south from the edge of the city. It adds a strong, calm shape of open water beside the dense centre.

Tabula quae aliquid significat
Anyone who has walked the full circuit of the wall, studied in the city or rowed on the Tollensesee will recognise the oval immediately. It is a map that works as a clean graphic even for people who have never been there.
You can personalise the title, the subtitle and the coordinates line, for example with a moving-in date or a family name. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Noir makes the ring of the wall especially striking.
