Laguna de Bay shore
The lake forms the town's western edge. Its broad, smooth surface fills much of the frame and emphasises the thin line of settlement along the shore.

Paete Map Poster & Print
Paete lies on the eastern shore of Laguna de Bay, the large lake southeast of Manila, in the province of Laguna. The town occupies a thin strip of flat land between the water and steep, forested hills, and the map shows exactly that. A long, narrow band of streets runs parallel to the shore, with the uplands rising sharply behind it.
Paete is widely known as the woodcarving capital of the Philippines. Its carvers have made religious images, furniture and sculpture for generations, and workshops and shops line many of the town's streets. The town is also known for taka, colourful papier-mâché figures shaped over carved wooden moulds, a craft that grew out of the same carving tradition.
The old stone Church of Saint James the Apostle stands at the centre, near the plaza that anchors the town's grid. A Paete map poster frames the town between two large quiet surfaces, the open lake on one side and the hills on the other, with a dense ribbon of streets and the lakeshore road between them.

Cur Paete
Tabula quae aliquid significat
Paete draws collectors of wood carving and people with family roots in Laguna. Its map has a striking composition of water, town and hills in three clean bands, and it works especially well in wide frames and larger sizes.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with a family name or the year of a visit, and edit the coordinates. Blueprint brings out the lake, and Paper gives a softer tone. Prints ship on matte paper, with an optional wooden frame.
