The Große Aue
The river crosses the municipality in slow curves, and its course is one of the few natural lines on an otherwise flat, field-divided map of the area.

Rahden Map Poster & Print
Rahden lies in the far north-east of North Rhine-Westphalia, in the Minden-Lübbecke district, close to the border with Lower Saxony. It is not a single compact town but a group of former villages brought together into one municipality. On the map this shows as several small clusters of streets connected by long country roads across open farmland.
The landscape is almost completely flat, part of the northern German lowland. The Große Aue river winds through the area, and its line, together with drainage ditches and field boundaries, gives the map a quiet rhythm. Scattered farmsteads and rows of trees along roads break up the open ground between the settlements.
A Rahden map poster captures a rural pattern that is typical of this part of Westphalia: a modest centre, outlying villages, and a wide network of lanes between them. The town is also known for its open-air museum of traditional farm buildings, a reminder that agriculture shaped both the landscape and the way the streets were laid out.

Village districts
Rahden is made up of several former villages, each with its own small street cluster, linked by country roads that stretch across the farmland in between.
Open lowland
There are no hills to bend the roads here. The flat terrain lets lanes and field edges run long and straight, producing a calm, spacious composition.
