Rutherglen Map Poster & Print
Rutherglen lies on the south side of the River Clyde, southeast of central Glasgow, in South Lanarkshire. It is one of Scotland's oldest royal burghs, with a charter dating to the twelfth century under David I. On the map that long history appears in its unusually wide Main Street, the spine of the town.
To the north the Clyde bends past the town, crossed by Rutherglen Bridge into Dalmarnock and the East End of Glasgow. Around Main Street the older streets give way to tenement blocks, and then to twentieth-century housing climbing the gentle slope south toward Burnside and Cathkin. Parks and a railway line break up the dense urban fabric.
A Rutherglen map poster shows a town that has kept its own identity despite growing into Glasgow. The river forms a strong curve at the top of the drawing, Main Street gives it a clear centre, and the streets around them fill the space in a fine, even texture.

The River Clyde
The Clyde curves along the northern side of Rutherglen, and the bridge to Dalmarnock links the town directly to Glasgow's East End.
Rising southern suburbs
South of the centre, housing spreads up the gentle slopes toward Burnside and the Cathkin area, with streets becoming more curved and suburban.

Cur Rutherglen
Tabula quae aliquid significat
Rutherglen natives, often called Ruglonians, are proud that their town is not simply part of Glasgow. A map of the burgh, its Main Street and its stretch of the Clyde makes that point without saying anything.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a street name or a year, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. HD files cost $9, and matte prints with optional wooden frames ship from UK partners.
