Hillside streets
The town's grid is fitted to uneven ground, so blocks vary in shape and some streets bend where the slope demands. This gives the centre an informal look.

Teolândia Map Poster & Print
Teolândia is a municipality in the south of Bahia, inland from the Atlantic coast. The town is small, with a short grid of streets on uneven ground, and the map soon opens onto farmland and wooded hills. Roads twist to follow the terrain, which gives the edges of the composition a loose, organic feel.
This part of Bahia lies in the humid Atlantic zone, where remnants of Atlantic Forest mix with plantations of cocoa, banana and other crops. Streams run through the valleys between the hills, and rural roads spread outward to small farming communities. On a map, the tight streets of the town contrast with the wide, largely rural space around it.
A Teolândia map poster portrays a place many Brazilians would need to look up, which is exactly why it matters to those who come from it. The layout is modest and easy to read, and in black and white the curves of roads and streams give it an understated elegance.

Valley streams
Small watercourses run through the valleys around the town. They draw fine, irregular lines between the hills and farmland that frame the settled area.
Rural road web
Rural roads leave the town in several directions to reach farms and small communities. They form a branching network that fills the poster's outer margins.

Tabula quae aliquid significat
Many people from small towns in Bahia have moved to Salvador, São Paulo or elsewhere. A poster of Teolândia brings the familiar outline of streets and hills into a new home as a quiet reminder rather than a postcard.
