Bay shoreline
The coast bends around a small bay in front of the town. It forms the lower edge of the map, with the open water of the Gulf of Gonâve beyond.

Tigwav Map Poster & Print
Tigwav, known in French as Petit-Goâve, is on the northern coast of Haiti's southern peninsula, facing the Gulf of Gonâve. The town fills a narrow strip of flat land between the shore and the hills behind it. On a map the streets run down towards the water in a simple grid, and the coastline curves around a small bay.
The hills rise quickly behind the town, so the built-up area stays compact. Roads and paths climb up into the valleys, and a national road runs along the coast, linking the town to Léogâne and Port-au-Prince in the east and to the south of the country in the west. The town was badly damaged in the 2010 earthquake, and many parts of it have since been rebuilt.
A Tigwav map poster sets the small town grid against a large expanse of sea and hills. The streets take up only a narrow band, so the space around them has as much presence as the town itself. The result is simple and uncluttered.

Coastal grid
The town streets form a compact, regular pattern on the narrow flat strip between the sea and the slopes. The grid is simple and easy to read from above.
Hillside roads
Behind the town, roads and tracks wind up into the hills. They are thin, curving lines that trail off into mostly empty terrain.
