The Duero
The Duero curves along the southern edge of the old town, with islands and weirs in its bed. It gives the map a strong, flowing boundary.

Zamora Map Poster & Print
Zamora lies in the north-west of Spain in Castile and León, on the north bank of the Duero River. From above, the old town sits on a long, narrow rocky ridge above the water. Its lanes run lengthwise from the cathedral and castle at the western tip to the more modern districts in the east. The river curves below, with islands, weirs and mills along its course.
The city is known for having one of Europe's largest collections of Romanesque churches within a single historic centre, many of them built in the twelfth century. The cathedral, with its distinctive scaled dome, stands at the western end of the old town. Zamora's Holy Week processions are among the most famous in Spain. Parts of the medieval walls still enclose the historic core.
A Zamora map poster brings out the long spine of the old town, the curve of the Duero and the bridges linking the two banks. In black and white, the fine, irregular lanes on the ridge contrast clearly with the broader streets of the newer city.

Stone bridge
The medieval Puente de Piedra crosses the river to the southern bank. It is one of several bridges that stitch the city across the water.
Ridge-top old town
The historic centre stretches along a narrow ridge from the cathedral eastwards. Its irregular lanes and plazas form a dense, elongated core.
