Colomiers lies just west of Toulouse, in the Haute-Garonne department of Occitanie. It was a small village until the second half of the twentieth century, when it grew rapidly into a planned suburban town. The town is closely tied to the Toulouse aerospace industry, and large industrial sites and the airport zone lie on its eastern side.
