Kakdwip Map Poster & Print
Kakdwip lies in the South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, close to where the Hooghly meets the Bay of Bengal. From above, it is a town of water edges: tidal rivers, creeks and embankments surround a compact core of streets, with ponds scattered through the neighbourhoods.
The town is widely known as the mainland crossing point for Sagar Island, where pilgrims head each winter for the Gangasagar Mela. On the map, the broad channel of the estuary dominates one side of the frame, and the ferry landing marks the point where road meets river.
A Kakdwip map poster shows a place shaped by the delta. Roads follow raised embankments, fields are broken up by channels, and the line between land and water is irregular rather than sharp. In black and white, the many ponds and creeks give the print a distinctive, speckled texture.

Ponds and creeks
Numerous ponds and small tidal creeks dot the town and surrounding fields, creating a pattern typical of the Bengal delta.
Ferry landing
The crossing point to Sagar Island ties the road network to the water and explains why the town sits where it does.

အဓိပ္ပာယ်ရှိသော မြေပုံ
Kakdwip is a meaningful place for many families in southern Bengal and for pilgrims who have crossed here to Sagar Island. A map of the town holds that memory of journeys, rivers and home in a single calm image.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with the year of a pilgrimage or a family name. Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Blueprint makes the delta's water especially clear.
