Kenge Map Poster & Print
This Kenge lies in the lower Congo region in the west of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, in the hilly country between Kinshasa and the Atlantic. The land is broken into rounded hills and stream valleys, and the town sits among them as a loose cluster of streets and compounds.
From above, the road network looks organic. Routes bend with the terrain, footpaths branch across the slopes toward fields, and the built-up area is sparse, interspersed with gardens and trees. In black and white the map has a soft, hand-drawn quality, with few straight lines and plenty of open space.
A Kenge map poster is a personal object rather than a tourist souvenir. It shows a specific place in lower Congo, the roads that connect it to the region, and the land around it. It is for people who know it well.

Scattered compounds
Houses and yards are spread out among gardens and trees, which gives the town a light, open texture.
Branching footpaths
Narrow paths lead outward to fields and neighbouring settlements. They fill the edges of the frame with fine lines.
