Baisha is a town in Jiangjin District, in the southwest of Chongqing municipality, on the bank of the Yangtze River. On a map the river dominates everything. It sweeps through the frame as a wide, dark ribbon, and the town lies in a long band along one shore instead of spreading evenly in all directions.
The terrain here is typical of the Chongqing hills, and it shapes the street pattern.
