Highview is a residential community in southeastern Jefferson County, inside the consolidated Louisville Metro area. Seen from above, it has none of the rigid grid of the old city. It is a patchwork of postwar and later subdivisions, each with its own set of looping streets, crescents and dead-end courts.
A few older through-roads cross the area. They were once rural routes, and they still carry traffic between the subdivisions and toward the interstates.
