Imbros, called Gökçeada in Turkish, is Turkey's largest island and lies in the northern Aegean, west of the Gallipoli peninsula. Its outline is broad and compact, longer from east to west, with a hilly volcanic interior and a coastline of cliffs and sandy bays.
