Obando lies on the coastal lowlands of Bulacan, just north of Metro Manila, where the land and Manila Bay are hard to tell apart. On a map the town is defined by water. The town is best known for the Obando Fertility Rites, a dance festival held each May in honour of San Pascual Baylon, Santa Clara and Nuestra Señora de Salambao. The tradition is recognised as part of the Philippines' intangible cultural heritage and draws visitors from across Luzon.
