Colonial grid
The town follows a regular Spanish checkerboard around a main plaza. It is the densest part of the map and shows the long history of the settlement.

Saladas Map Poster & Print
Saladas is in Corrientes province in northeastern Argentina, among some of the oldest settlements in the region. Its map shows the classic Spanish colonial pattern: a regular grid of square blocks arranged around a central plaza. The main roads leave the grid and run out across the flat, low countryside.
What makes the surroundings distinctive is water. This part of Corrientes is low and poorly drained, and the land around Saladas is scattered with lagoons, marshes and wet hollows of all sizes. On a map these appear as rounded, irregular shapes pressing close to the edges of town and to the roads.
A Saladas map poster places the order of the colonial grid against the loose shapes of the wetlands. The town's blocks are neat and evenly spaced, while the lagoons around them are soft and random. In black and white that contrast is clear and satisfying, and it describes the place accurately.

Surrounding lagoons
Many small lagoons and marshes lie around the town. Their rounded, irregular outlines make an organic frame around the straight streets on the print.
Roads across the lowland
A few main roads leave the grid and cross the wet, flat country. They draw long straight lines between the lagoons and link Saladas to the rest of Corrientes.

People from Saladas often keep strong ties to the town, its plaza and its church, even after moving to Corrientes city or Buenos Aires. A map of its grid and lagoons is a calm, lasting way to keep it close.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with a family name or a date. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Paper suits the colonial grid especially well.
