Svalyava Map Poster & Print
Svalyava lies in Zakarpattia, in the far west of Ukraine, in a valley of the Carpathian Mountains. The Latorytsia River runs through the town, and the map is shaped by it: the main streets follow the river and the valley floor, while side streets climb a short way up the slopes before giving way to forest.
The Svalyava area is widely known for its mineral water springs, and several well-known Transcarpathian mineral waters come from the district. Sanatoriums and spa resorts lie in the nearby valleys, and the town has long been a stop on the route across the mountains.
A Svalyava map poster shows a town that is long and narrow by necessity, laid out between hills and water. The curve of the river and the lines of road and railway running beside it give the print a strong sense of direction. It suits anyone who knows the Carpathians or grew up in the valley.
